A paradise
The idea of paradise has been a significant one throughout history. Its power lies in its capacity to make human existence meaningful and enjoyable regardless of the fact that it is always temporary. Paradise is an oasis of peace and abundance. It is a place outside of normal historical time and therefore is not subject to disease, crime or death. It is also a land that is inhabited by people who are eternally healthy and young.
Paradise is described in a variety of ways It ranges from the Garden of Eden of the Bible to the lush Pacific Ocean islands of novels and Gauguin's paintings. It can even be seen in the modern world, with the rise of communes and the increasing interest in gardening and outdoor living. The term utopia, actually, invokes images of paradise. While not all utopias are infused with religious connotations, they typically contain motifs of paradise. They are also designed to attain certain characteristics and attributes of paradise in real life.
There are many different meanings of the word "paradise however, the majority of them define a state of absolute beauty or enjoyment. It could also refer to an ideal location for a particular activity or pastime. For example the golfer's paradise or a hummingbird's paradise. In the context of religion it could be a reference to heaven, the abode of the righteous after death.
Different languages have used the word paradise, but it was originally derived from the ancient Iranian language of Avestan. The word is pairidaeza, or "walled enclosure," from the roots pairi, "around," and daeza, "wall." It was later included in the Hebrew and other Aramaic texts as paradeisos, and later changed into Greek, where it became paradise.
In the Bible The Bible describes paradise as the Garden of Eden, where the first couple lived in a beautiful environment that was free from disease and death. When they rebelled against God and sinned they lost their paradise. In later Bible prophecies, heaven is seen as a place in the future of the eschatological, where the happy people of the world will live for eternity. The term "paradise" is used to refer to an emotional or spiritual state that is full of joy and happiness.
